Desert
This world's formation history is not known to the Orthans. Much of Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa is a radioactive wasteland. There are modest populations of nomads in South-Central Asia under the Khan, and in scattered tribes of the Western hemisphere. One of these latter has as its chief Joshaph, Metan elder and grandfather to Lucas. The latter is an main character in the novel "The Builder" who grows up on Prime, but portions of The Builder are set on Desert.
The Orthans sometimes contract to supply mercenaries to the Khan to train them in other forms of warfare. Thomas Monde and Sean Reilly spent a few years on Desert for this purpose.
